Japanese Beetles
    #28389261 - 07/08/23 11:35 AM (6 months, 18 days ago)

These dickheads have been going to town on the beans, edamame and apple trees. Really bad this year. Any of y’all know of any good tips for detouring these guys? Preferably to a watery grave or something. Before I do something like use chems, these fuckers are gonna kill the trees

I don't have any tips, but I have seen these guys a lot on my mom's roses.
I think they are so beautiful, even though they do cause damage lol

I spray spinosad once every 7 to 10 days on the top and bottom of leaves. Do it a half hour before it's completely dark so you don't spray any bees.

They say the traps actually attract the beetles to your plants but I put some of these at least 30 feet away from the garden https://www.amazon.com/Spectracide-Bag-Bug-Japanese-Beetle/dp/B01J4989TQ

i google to see if the japanese beetle is same as junebug beetle..
had been getting lots of junebugs last month, because it was june,
but they are a blessing to me, because i feed them to pet lizards.

All insect eaters LOVE them, and so they help feed wildlife also,
i guess if you collect enough, could sell on ebay as feeder bugs.

What keeps Japanese beetles away?

What attracts Japanese beetles to your yard?
Certain kinds of plants are more likely to attract Japanese beetles. Black walnut, apple, cherry and linden trees as well as grapes, plums, roses, and hollyhocks are favorite meals.

SOAP + WATER SPRAY. Mix 4 tablespoons of dish soap with a quart of water inside a spray bottle. This simple solution makes for a great, all natural Japanese Beetle pesticide. Spray on any beetles you see on or around your lawn & garden.
