Multiple meaty transfers?

Transferred a sliver of a fatboy from my recent PE harvest and got a touch of green growing...mmmm mmmm good!
I'm new to agar. When doing a flesh to agar is it recommended to move your fruits directly to SAB upon harvesting? Might this have helped? I always follow sanitary guidelines.
And should I have done multiple xfers? (couldn't have even if I wanted to at the time due to not being totally prepared)
Thanks

As you take a biopsy from the inside of the stem, you donΒ΄t need to hurry. Get the harvest done, then start clone works.

Better do, yes. Always a good idea to have multiple choices.

I absolutely thought this would be the cleanest type of agar work a person could do. Exposing the inside of a stem...no contams in there, right? Lol
I'm always replaying in my head trying to catch what I did wrong. And of course doing more woulda increased my success chance. Hindsight 'n shit.
Going through the sterilization process got me thinking. The only thing that you wouldn't be able to clean is the fruit itself. I'm thinking the chances are low, but could that be the culprit?

Tear the stem apart, do not cut it. Cutting it with a scalpel may contaminate the inside.

If you're having problems punching through the stipe with a blade (and therefore contaminating it), you can always use a loop to scrape some mycelium off the inside of the stipe and then use that to inoculate a petri. It only takes the tiniest bit of mycelium to get a new culture going.

I definitely tore the stem instead of cutting but to what PBJ says, I think I can lower my contam chances. The chunk I cut certainly wasn't big, but it coulda been much smaller. The loop idea is fn great.
Hopefully cakes fruit 2nd flush in the next week or so. I'll do another xfer and keep yall posted.
Thanks yall
