Mushroom Cultivation Psilosybe Subaeruginosa query

Hi all.
I have collected P.Subs for only 2 seasons now in Victoria (new to the wonderful world of psilocybin mushrooms), Australia, from a little Pine plantation near my home. I have a few dozen spore prints put away. I’m keen to try my hand at cultivating outdoors. Might be too late for this season, however. I’m seeking advice on how this may be achieved in an outdoor bed. And yes, I have perused the wood lovers cultivation pages and it usually suggests spawn cultivated previously, then added into the bed rather than just spores directly onto the bed layers. I tried growing mycelium in small containers last year and failed miserably.
My plan was as follows. Create a bed of pine mulch. In April (or whenever, but April is the start of the season so I thought then or a tad earlier would be best) dilute the spores in purified water and use a spray bottle to apply it over the bed. Add a thin layer of mulch atop of that and give it a soak. Repeat a few times. From there, a light watering daily if no natural rain. Wait and see.
Could it be so simple? Has anyone tried this and skipped cultivating spores in small quantities first?

You will find spore > agar > brown rice flour > woodchips to be a good grow plan. A good agar recipe like this https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19208976 can be used to germinate spores. After you see some strong rhizomorphic or tomentose mycelium growth on that you can add it to a small pf cake - https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11585613#11585613 - and then move the cake to some woodchips after it has been covered by white mycelium.

Seems that you're possibly looking for something similar to the video I've linked?
It seems to achieve what you're describing, however, uses straw instead of pine mulch. It also aims to grow oyster mushrooms, but seems to do so in an appropriate manner for growing subs.

Thanks. Is there a standard time frame or time of year for preparation in relation to the fruiting season? Like start preparing 6 weeks in advance?

The easiest way is to have a jar of pasteurized woodchips ready when the season starts and put all the stem buds of the fruits you find into the jar. Slowly expand by adding more woodchips. Will take a while but you won't need to go via agar.
If you want to do spores then you will have to go via agar and grain or chances are very low. Go Grain to pasteurized woodchips in a bucket and expand as soon as fully colonized by mixing the same amount of uncolonized chips in. Start a patch once you have enough. Start an outdoor patch a year in advance if possible. Only a few weeks ahead won't be enough.

It can be vey basic.
I'd start propagating mycelium now for next year. Here's some helpful links to get you going.
For spore water mixed with pine mulch. Take a look LOTG's thread for more info.
Alternatively or additionally you can grow out the fruit bodies or stem butts from fresh fruits. Take a look at Olive's thread for more info.
Also well worth a read is Warrk's fish tank tek.
Hope that helps
