I just picked up 2 bales of Sunshine #4 it was $84 out the door.
I planted one of the Obama Kush S1 outside, it is the first seed I’ve grown outdoors in 20 years! I have been spending way too long messing with clones. Been enjoying the pictures of the seeds you guys been growing.

Right on. I think some of the best weed comes from plants that don’t yield much but it’s worth it if you have space.
I normally try to run stuff a couple times to try to dial it in. But if the smoke ain’t all that, on to the next one…

Sweet!
Some day I hope to have a place where I can work with a bed like that.
A couple things I came across recently that I thought I'd share with the thread here...
Here's a video I think y'all can appreciate. Most of the chit chat from the dude I imagine most of us around here already know about, but the imagery that is shown from a scanning electron microscope is absolutely stunning. I mean I've def seen a few images of trichomes taken from a SEC, but there's a lot of really cool stuff in this video.
"Exploring the fascinating development of cannabinoid-producing trichomes - Zamir Punja, PhD"
And I recently came across this site...has some really neat & interesting articles on the topic of terpenes/cannabis. exactly the sort of stuff I've been wanting to read/hear about>>>>
"Terpenes and Testing Magazine....Terpenes, Horticulture, Chemistry & Analytics " https://terpenesandtesting.com/

That's a pretty plant, I dig its structure/aesthetic lol.
Pretty similar to how the Thin Mint cookies cut I grew a few summers ago looked.
Has anyone here ever seen or heard of a plant/certain strains developing trichomes on fan leaves in veg? I have a clone of Rainbow Belts 2.0 that has young trichomes developing on the fan leaves but for the most part it still looks like it is in veg, I can't really tell if it started to flip into flowering or if it did briefly and just snapped back to re-veg quickly or if that's just how this plant grows.

Yeah the breeder timelines are way off usually.
My first grow was an “8 week seed to harvest auto”. Took 14.

Same here I've rarely had anything finish within the timespan that was "promised". I've had to add anywhere between 1 and 5 weeks, usually it's 2 to 4 weeks extra.

Can't speak for autos but at least with photos the growing conditions and pheno can make a big difference. Some phenos are just slower or faster. Hydro with co2 can be 1-2 weeks faster than a pot of soil at ambient co2. They probably represent the best case scenarios in their marketing.
And people peek at night which contributes to foxtailing and extended flower times.

I don't
And I highly doubt flowering times represented by breeder are taken from CO2 enhanced grow ops.
When does one start to count "days of flowering", from the moment you flip, or from the moment you see flower development? If the first, how do you flip (at once or taking smaller increments, and if the latter, again, when to start counting)? If the latter, what do you call "start of flower development"?
I think the above questions are also likely implied and the answers may liberally vary from one breeder to another.

I don't mean you but everyone does on their first grow. Even the green bulbs can mess up and extend flowering and some people use those.
The breeders I buy from are selling to the indoor market and have commercial growers test the strains; I assume the commercial growers are the ones reporting the flowering duration so it's skewed toward indoor commercial cultivation speeds. Same when they say yields of 500g per sq. meter or whatever. Obviously that's conditional on high-efficiency environments.

Well in that case it would be the flowering time of a cloned specimen, which may also differentiate from a plant grown from seed, depending on how mature it is when it is flipped into flower.
Not sure if this actually does make flowering faster (or slower for that matter), just to be clear. But it seems to me it could make a difference.
