I am not quite as educated as many on here claim. I am a high school drop out. I sometimes receive post that I know are personal. I make post that may seem personal. Sometimes I only know my way to make a point and to make it against what someone else believes might seem personal and I may know no other way to make it.
I try to keep in mind that these discussion while maybe important, will in no way stop my sewer from stopping up or my car from having a flat and I know the chickens still need fed and the kids need shoes and so try and keep things in perspective.
I do want to make the points I make but only have the skill level to make them as I do and my statements will not change those things in your life that should be more important then anything I may say.
The second thing is, when I come off rough, if my point is correct, am I really helping you or hurting you? My intention would be more that trying to be correct should help more then hurt. Don't take this stuff personal, personal is doing your part for those you love. Cheers gww

note: i really dont think what i said WAS personal... just had the juxtaposition that he didnt care for.
hopefully i have sufficiently explained that and he understands that i was only pointing out what i found to be hypocritical in general and not specific toward him.

Rxb I take the accusation that I only care about the constitution when it protects trump personally. That is a broad statement that certainly doesn't match what I have said. It's all good idfc but I do take it as a sign the conversation is pointless.
I was also really replying to christopera who you quoted, his comment didn't add anything other than putting me down.

Sorry chief, hyperbole and fake news are different things.
Actually, i take this back. Uncle Joe should of known better. You cannot use hyperbole in an instance where the topic is already surrounded by large amounts of misinformation and active disinformation campaigns.

in the quote... THAT YOU QUOTED... i say... if thats true then its a problem... and you reply "so you are ok with it"
which is the kind of removal from reality that makes things very hard to discuss with you.

Any examples of you calling out the Trump administration or any republican elected officials for doing so, or are you just playing make believe again?

I have a problem with either side pushing fake news. Do you have any examples of fake news pushed by Trump that I support? If not, it's you who's just playing make believe.

So just like your make believe stance on "free speech" on Twitter, you only care enough to speak up when non-right wingers do the thing you pretend to care about. Shocking

Fake news is a problem. IMO getting news from social media is a problem too, but maybe that's a generational thing.
The biggest problem is treating what gets called fake news as verfifiable when it more often is interpretation from the other side that we completely disagree with. We think our interpretations are objectively verifiable, but most social issues are not. It's always nice to have some facts to support an argument, but subjective beliefs are part of social explanations. People are not atoms. The physical sciences have accumulated progress that eludes the social sciences.
No amount of data will ever get neoclassical economists, liberal economists and Marxist economists to agree on conclusions. They all have facts, but they interpret them through belief systems that are at least as much subjective as objective.
If all the fake news was really fake news at least half the country would always be wrong. It's not that simple, but us believing that it is, presents a bigger problem than actual fake news. When we sometimes come to a realization that something we believed was fake, it usually doesn't change minds on the larger social issue. Facts are overrated.
