Jar lids during colonization

Inoculated this sorghum jar with agar 3 days ago and was really confused where to place it and whether I should loosen the lid or not
And overall not too sure about colonizing conditions as there's too many answers on the board
there is some growth with the lids loosened for 3 days and placed in a closed drawer (which concerns me about gas exchange).

Unmodified lids should be loosened. Why in a closed drawer?

That vendor told you complete nonsense. You close jars tight if you have a filter on the lids. You don´t have, so you need a little gas exchange by loosening the lid slightly. Cool dark place is even more bullshit, place them anywhere into ambient light all around 20°C. You feel comfortable, so mycelium will also

does the mycelium require light?? also loosened the lid a little and put it back in the closed cupboard (24c) should this be fine?

They do not require light, but they do tend to grow better with it. In my experience. Closed cupboard should be fine if a little slow. Don't worry too much.

Light isn´t absolutely necessary, but ambient light is always prefered, we all do here. Just place them anywhere on a shelf or else. Me thinks you need to hide the jars away?

Dude, these things grow out in the wild in India. How cool and dry is it outdoors?

As mentioned already, you can stick that up on a shelf somewhere where there is ambient light and it should be fine, so long as it's not getting too hot. Otherwise, you may find that that light is okay. And yes, such mushrooms do grow natively in India too, though I'm not sure at what time of year for you guys. That's a great shot by the way. Yasoda and Krishna I would assume?

John became a member of the Hare Krishna movement after a chance meeting with a group of them at an airport in San Francisco in the late 60's. John, correct me if I'm wrong. (I'm definitely wrong.)
