Auto-Locking Threads that haven't been replied to in X Amount of Time? 2

The title says it all, would this be possible in general? I mean, nothing lasts forever right. For example auto-lock after 2 years of inactivity or whatever the community decides is an appropriate time.
I think that might be a useful feature especially for the cultivation related forums. At least it will prevent necro posting for whatever reason and outdated info from being dragged to the surface. If someone still wants to refer to it then this can be done with a link or copy/paste but it wont be as brainlessly easy as clicking the reply button.
Might be worth a try.

Since it's primarily new members creating the issues, I think the ability to necro dead cult threads should be restricted by post/account age like the marketplace access is. If you don't have XX cult posts/account age, you can't wake up dead cult threads at all. I would go a step further and even require a forum mod approval if the thread is old enough (~10 years?) even if the poster met the criteria.

Make older threads read only and turn the entire screen yellow because the small caution banner tends to get missed. A 90 day restriction is a good idea. It would prevent the new member 1st post reply to a 21 year old thread and frustrate the trolls. I like being able to go back and read old posts. It helped me understand how teks evolved and explains the some of the question new members and trolls ask. I did limit searches to 2-3 years initially and worked back from there.

A lot of old threads still have good info, and occasionally resurrected threads lead to good discussion.

Necro bumps are a non issue and occasionally necro bumps are good. If anything should be done its the 1000 stickies so people's questions are already half way down the page. Back when i was around i made it all neat and now its all ridiculous again
