Potential contamination and solution recs?

Hi guys, new grower and poster here. I have a brf cake with what looks like the smallest bit of visible contamination (sorry for the not great pictures… the visible contamination is at the bottom of the mason jar where the glass is curving making it difficult to view). I know the safest bet is to throw it out and use the rest of my cultures, but would cutting off the small amount of contaminated area be an option? I’ve heard that contamination is spotty and a sign somewhere locally can indicate contamination anywhere else. Does anyone have recommendations? I’m fine with throwing it out if need be, just curious more than anything

Just looks like metabolites to me, could be bacterial, would let it consolidate for a week then birth it

Can you explain what the metabolites are/ if it is bacterial that would still not be ideal to birth, no? The cake has also been almost entirely colonized. Would you still recommend waiting up to a week for now or just a few more days? And if it is bacterial should I birth it separate from the others? (Sorry for all the questions but thank you for your input!!)

Metabolites are excreted by mycelium to digest nutrients. Sometimes when things get too bacterial youll get a ton of metabolites almost like an immune response.
After full colonization you want to wait a week for the mycelium to consolidate, and fully colonize the centre and nutrients. Slightly bacterial PF tek cakes are fine to birth as long as you dont break them apart and keep them in tact, it wont infect other cakes as long as it doesnt get mold.
