Pins before full colonization
    #28385191 - 07/04/23 05:20 PM (1 year, 6 months ago)

Quick question: if I see pins before my tub is fully colonized does that automatically mean there is something in the substrate the mycelium doesn’t like? Including pics of three dif tubs, one of which is already pinning.

Would say general speaking that means your spawn was probably bacterial. Unless you have really uneven top layer

Well it’s crazy because they are definitely still colonizing a bit, I only spawned these less than a week ago. It’s like as soon as they colonized the spawn it started producing primordia.

The spawn may have been bacterial. That doesn't mean you won't get fruits, but do keep a close eye on surface conditions. It's hard to be sure from the pics,
but your substrate surface may be a little dry. If so, then mist when needed (not on a schedule), from well above the substrate and avoid fanning completely.
