We havent really even gotten into the "science", chemistry/biology of it all, everything that's been said has been just been run of the mill cultivation advice

Start with agar or pf tek depending on if you have a pressure cooker or not.

So what's the established way to test LC? I'm a silly paranoid bitch and I worry I'm going to get a false negative while contaminating the LC.
If I sterilize a syringe/needle in the PC, it gets vacuum locked so I can't really trust it unless I break the vacuum while the needle is submerged in the LC. Is that how you guys do it?
Gimme a TEK or something, I need to be spoon fed from momma's tit.

No pressure cooker means you should do PF tek. Look at my signature for the link to the updated pf tek

Ive only ever tested vendor LC, never made my own, and Won't be doing it until i get axenic spawn from g2g consistently. Is a syringe even necessary for LC?

You’ve been given pretty solid advice. How you take it and choose to proceed is up to you. Good luck and hope you get some grows going!

How do you test it then? Just free pour on the petri? I'm talking about home made LC in media bottles, not that newfangled LC syringes that you can buy.

I’ve never had an issue with vacuum on a sterilized syringe. If it’s an issue, order some sterile, individually sealed pipettes. You could also use a loop. And to be honest, I don’t test my LC.

If your sterile technique is on point and you understand when you make mistakes, you have a lot more room to be confident about these things haha.
Noobs like me dont have that luxury yet ;_;

This is the reason why I make low nute, clear LC. It colonizes the broth a bit slower but saves time in the end by not requiring testing on agar.
If the mycelium is white as fresh snow and thw broth is bubble free/crystal clear, without even a hint of cloudiness. It's most assuredly clean.
LC is single use media, imo, so testing is an unnecessary risk/vector for contamination.
This took 7 days:

Each bottle is enough for 10 jars.

I always wondered this too, the fact that the process of testing LC can actually contaminate the LC. Always thought that the "test your LC" Advice was logically associated with Vendor LC. And that if youre at a stage in your cultivation where you feel confident in making your own LC (which also means your sterile technique is pretty much immaculate), then you probably dont need to test it.
Question though, when you use LC do you just pour? The syringe seems like another vector for contamination, so pouring seems more common sense to me
