yo yo wassup diggy dawgs. I got some bins goin right now and would like some input as this is my second grow, for context I have: 1x Reishi with 9qts spawn with a 1:1 3x shitake each with 3qts spawn with a 1:1 but one of them is in a bigger bin than the rest.
first ill show the reishi, they are looking a little weird but I could be going crazy, they have some blue stuff on them idk if contam or what (but does it even matter since they are fruiting??) should I harvest some of them now or wait.

next I got my big shitake bin, the grain/sub cake has shrunk a lot and looks fully colonized, I'm giving it some FAE should i give it more?

finally my two smaller shitake bins, these were S2B the same time as the others but are severely lagging behind, what should I do if anything? (gave them a shit ton of water the past two days and they have started to colonize a lot more so that might've been the issue so idk.)

sorry for long ass post and thanks.

Are those on coir? They’ll do light years better on wood. Kinda hard to see what’s going on in the reishi tub but at least they’re fruiting. Shiitake need to brown up and then they’ll fruit. You might look into hardwood fuel pellets and sterilizing them in filter bags with some supplements such as bran (can reduce spawn volume this way) The reishi do very well from start to finish in a sealed bag (my sig). The shiitake done this way, once browned, can be removed from the bag as a block, soaked overnight and then fruited in a chamber.

yeah they are on coir, what do you mean by brown up? (EDIT: CVG to be exact)

They literally turn brown. That’s when you fruit them. Here are a couple (not great but you can see what I mean).

Yeah, that’s 5 lbs of supplemented hfp spawned with like a half quart. It consolidates and when brown you remove from the bag and place in a cool, high rh environment with ample FAE. I use a tent. You could probably get away with a tub if you don’t have a tent or Martha but likely won’t get as good results. The reishi can stay in the bag under lights and fruit like a mofo.
