Should I introduce fitting conditions?

Hey legends,
It’s only been 5 days but I reckon this is looking good. Should I flip the lid and introduce fitting conditions or wait till I see some knots? Thought I had to give it 10 days but it seems to be going well. There is no moisture on the surface so I’ll have to mist it.

Thanks heaps for any advise.

I'd wait a bit longer until you see strong hyphal knots forming. I sometimes wait for a mushroom or 2 to pin before I introduce fruiting conditions. I'd recommend modifying your tub with holes.

Thanks man. I don’t have any holes. It’s probably too late to do that now I guess. I’ve got more coming on so maybe I’ll try one with holes next to compare.

Yeah, you should. You can go straight into fruiting conditions right after spawn.

What's the difference between strong and weak hyphal knots

You don´t need to introduce anything. We set up for growing conditions from the start. Modifying tubs is always related to your environment, there´s no fix values for that. Start unmodified, and tweak from there if needed. I even think that´s a shoebox? You´ll never want to modify with holes then. As you said, care for surface moisture, just that and nothing more. Very little passive air exchange, then let it ride. Sir Psycho beat me

Roger! I’ll give it a mist, crack the lid and cross my fingers. It’s definitely more of a shoebox that a mono. Bit bigger that a typical shoebox but not much. Thanks man!!

Cool, now just don't fuck with at all unless it looks like the surface is drying. No fanning at all and only mist if the surface looks dry

That’s the plan! I’ve had so many failures before I think I’m due. I think it was the strain. This is a new one and is growing soooo much better so I’m hopeful. Thanks man.

Your tub looks pretty good, I'd expect you to get some fruit out of it

I've just noticed I get more even pinning and bigger fruits when I wait until its producing pins, if i introduce fruiting conditions too early before the substrate is thoroughly colonized sometimes I get too many small mushrooms. Maybe my humidity is off not sure. You think RH is more important than FAE?

No, FAE and fruiting conditions are what's important. RH is almost irrelevant. You could fruit in open air with 15% RH if you have the time to mist every hour or so. In fact a TC on here did just that out of a bucket a few years ago. Was looking for it the other day but couldn't find it
