Request: Add "Reason for editing"

I usually put a reason for editting, but I've visited some bulletin boards where there is a slot entitled "Reason for Editting" when some decide to edit a post later.
This is very convinient in my opinion, and can do away with the five minute edit amendment. Thanks.

there should be a no edit timeout, like to prevent anyone from editing something he said yesterday...
but keep the delete post option open indefinitely, so if someone really wants to take something back he can.

There's so many ways to abuse whatever you're implying. Might as well have no "edit" button.

there will always be a way to abuse the system, to those who really want to... the 25 post rule is an elegant solution that works on the principle that petty people are also lazy...
so perhaps something along those lines... make us work harder to change our posts... the 5 minute rule is pretty nice, because it works on the principle that petty people like to gloat about how they just zinged you good for a few minutes...
petty people also, when they're about to get busted for all the shit they said, often scramble to edit all their posts, so limiting the number of posts edited per ten minute period to one would quell that behavior...
I'm not talking about you here daba, if thats what you thought, i was thinking about someone not on this boAard, but didn't mean it to apply to anyone specific...

I didn't think you were referring to me anyways, MikeOLogical, but I appreciate the clarification. I just find it to be a matter of convinience, this "Reason for Editting" option I would like to be added.

Why the hell would we want to limit people's ability to scramble their posts? Fuck, there should be an emergency button that automatically scrambles all your posts and deletes all uploaded pictures. I thought we were trying to keep people out of jail, not put them in it...

I'm pretty sure, all admins have access to a scramble button. If there's trouble... contact an admin by pm... tell them you MUST have your account deleted. They'll press the button.

** Fuck, there should be an emergency button that automatically scrambles all your posts and deletes all uploaded pictures**
Prob with that is, this is a drug site, there are plenty of paraniod people on here, and panic deleting your history when drunk or stoned, then regretting it, can be annoying, if not only to those trying to read old threads to awnser there questions.
