BRF Cakes not fruiting? Contam or something else?

So I am trying to get my third flush out of these BRF cakes however, they dont even want to start pinning. On my second flush I went away for 24 hours hoping to catch them before they were ready for harvest. However, I didn't expect them to grow so fast and came back to a bit of an annoying but quite pretty sight.
However I did notice one of the cakes wasn't very keen on fruiting (back right). I threw that one out.
Now after dunking, the other three dont pin, I read somewhere that if mushrooms release their spores the mycelium loses vitality. Could this be the reason they are not fruiting? Or is it more likely contam? These cakes have been there for around a week now.

Little bit nervous now after having them to my freshly spawned tubs.

Maybe theyβre just done. Nothing guaranteed about how many flushes you get. Leave me alone and toss em in a week if they still donβt do anything.

Yeah completely, does BRF have lower nutritious value compares to grain? As I found I have managed to get 4-5 decent flushes from grain spawn. However, I decided to experiment with BRF for the first time with these cakes and tubs.

Looks like you rerolled them in verm after the first flush.
I've read that this is not advisable as it promotes contamination.

So why do we skip the roll after first flush?
I've read here that mycelium is weakened after the first flush and thus we should not create a mold friendy environment with the verm.
Quote:
NOTE: After the first flush you will need to dunk your cakes again to replenish the water content of the cake, and initiate the second flush. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ROLL AGAIN AFTER THIS DUNK. If you roll again you will be covering the outside of the cake (covered in contaminates from the open air) with a moist layer of vermiculite. This will promote growth of molds and bacteria and will ultimately result in your cakes contaminating. Dunk and roll for the first flush, and then only dunk for the second and third flush.
Old info i guess?

As opposed to the original roll that happens in sterile conditions? And what would the contam eat anyway? Verm?

This is the only explanation i found on why we only roll the first time.
If you have a better one, please tell me. I am genuinely curious.

Ok, but basically every PF tek on this planet says we only should roll once.
I am confused.

I don't see anything about only rolling once in Ziran's write-up

I dont think so. I put mine in the oven at 300 Celsius for 30-40 minutes. Once cooled, I roll the cakes that are taken out of their soak in the dry verm. The mycelium should be healthy enough to deal with it just fine. Since verm isnt particularly nutritious. It is simply used to encourage humid a microclimate on the surface of the cake.

It isn't nutritious at all, it's a rock.
You don't have to do any of that. Use it straight out of the bag, you'll be fine

I know its not nutritious. But some of my bags stay open for weeks and i do it in case anything just landed on it from travelling through air. Can never be too clean.

They can stay open for years, it makes no difference.
