San Pedro from seed

Hi all,
I started some Trichocereus bridgesii and some Trichocereus pachanoi seeds using the takeaway tek. They have all sprouted:
I have some questions. I have read a lot of conflicting information online so I wanted to hear from real cultivators what I should do. I am in hardiness zone 5b. Should I move the sprouts outside to a 100% shaded area and slowly open the lids? Should I leave them inside with the lid on in indirect light? Also, some of the seedlings are looking clear/dead. Is there too much moisture? If I put them outside, do I need to cover them to protect from rain? We get some insaine thunder storms here. Just looking for tips on what to do next. Thanks!

I keep mine indoors for the first several years.
Year one-sprout` Year two separate into individual small pots Pot up every year or two once they are bigger then a pickle I move them out
Thats just what I have done, lots of ways work I am sure.

That's good info. I'm 4 months in and still have mine indoors and covered with plastic wrap. During the first year indoors, at what point do you uncover and let them start adjusting to indoor humidity?

You can weak off the humidity/plastic after a few months, maybe six max. I usually pull the lids off after about a month and keep them outdoors in the shade. Gradually move into more light as they will tolerate.
AnTron, the white sprouts are albino and will last a while on their own. In order to keep them alive long term, they will need to be grafted.

Got it. I have some prickley pairs, could I graft to those? I imagine I'd need a more collum-esc cactus. Any teks you recommend for grafting?

You can graft to Opuntia, though no ideal. Pereskiopsis is easiest with very small seedlings like that.

Don't worry about the clear white ones, they just look that way because they have not escaped there seeds yet, they will be fine. Temp wise 68 is fine they are cold hardy to about 40 degrees F. In fact to make them grow nice as they get bigger(not etiolated)I overwinter in a cool(not cold) area of the house or garage with window is best.

Cool. I appreciate everyone's wisdom. Today a picture fell of my wall and somehow knocked both tubs onto the ground. I was able to replant most of the sprouts at least. Pretty sure some of them will die but hoping for a few survivors. Way it goes I guess haha.

My seedlings got knocked off the windowsill by my cat. Pretty sure they all grew back. They are seriously tough plants.

Seems that way. I'll post an update here in a year, although the mods dislike that haha.

I dropped a pot of one year old Loph seedlings a few weeks back, transplanted all of them and only lost one. Cactus are pretty damn hardy, don't worry about it.
