Lion's mane mycelium propagating in tea?
    #28371342 - 06/23/23 01:31 PM (7 months, 2 days ago)

I made a green tea with turkey tail, lion's mane, honey, and lemon, when I noticed floating bits of mycelium growing while the mushroom bodies sunk to the bottom of the cup.

The turkey tail was dehydrated for 8 hours at 150 degrees f, then blended.
The lion's mane was dehydrated for 6 hours at 150 degrees f, then blended.

I added the tea, mushroom powder, honey, and lemon to a cup prior to adding hot water. The growth may have happened before adding water entirely.

I know that lion's mane mycelium is described as aggressive growing and that there's discussion about lion's mane fruiting body vs its mycelium. Is this a way to consume both the fruiting body and mycelium in one cup?

I've never had this happen while making just turkey tail tea, while my methods for making both are the same.

It's more likely I've got random spores flying around in my grow room and landing in my tea lol.
