First time harvesting bluing/bleeding

Hello...this is my first time growing and harvesting and I had one super large GT that I harvested this morning. I tried twisting it to remove it but the large stem broke and instantly started getting some bluing which I think is normal but my concern is it seemed like it dropped stuff all over the surrounding mushrooms. I'm not sure but I thought it gave off a pungent smell initially once that happened and I thought it was weird that it appeared to spray on the surrounding mushrooms. Hear are a couple photos of the harvested mushroom and the surrounding mushrooms with the discoloring. Is this normal for the large cut mushroom to drop liquid on the surrounding mushrooms as well?

That's normal bruising all around. This happens when the mycelia is disturbed, sometimes simply grabbing the mushroom will leave bruising. Everything looks alright here. You could have let it go for about a day so your cap could open and you can take a spore print.

Got it. And I believe you're right about waiting one more day. I wanted to remove it because it was so big and I was afraid of it dropping spores once it did open up but I'm a rookie so I'll take your advice next time. Thank you!

remember that these things grow on shit in the wild in pouring rain. They will survive a little water getting sprayed on them.
Mushrooms are mostly water so if u just squeeze it a little bit then it will leak lots of water

Hey, if could ask you another question, wanted to see if you had an opinion about...so I'm using an all in one grow bag and I'm on my 2nd flush. The funny this is that all of the mushrooms have only grown on the left and right sides of the bag. Nothing has grown in the middle. Any thoughts on how this can be avoided? I feel like a lot of good mycelium is going to waste in most of the bag

They grow where they find the best conditions. Possibly the surface got a bit dry, so they prefer the sides.

Would you recommend a dunk after the 2nd flush maybe?

Depends on the size of the brick. If it´s a big block i´d dunk for ~3 hours. Any other of less than 4" in height i´d just mist heavily.

Got it... This is my first time growing so I feel kind of lost. Not sure it it's too moist or too dry. I misted quite a bit after the first flush so I feel like the center is kind of yellow as a result of misting too much. Is this possible? Here's a photo, hopefully it's clear enough

That´s not from misting too much. How about air exchange? Bags benefit from having some holes poked to the bag above substrate level, take a syringe needle for that f.e.

I have 2 slits at the very top corners of the bag and then one more 2 inch slit just below the filter patch (about 7 inches above the substrate). Not sure if that is too much or too little fae

yellow means bacteria is growing in there alongside the myc, probably killing lots of myc in the process. Be careful it could go moldy and then you have to throw it away or the mold will contaminate your entire inoculation area.
