Side of liner on substrate ok while colonizing?
    #28378110 - 06/28/23 06:16 PM (1 year, 6 months ago)

One little side of my liner kind of dropped on my substrate. Now it’s been colonizing for about a week. Is it ok to take the liner off and stick it to the side while colonizing or should I just leave it closed?

If I leave it like this would it mess with the colonizing? I’ve heard of people putting wax paper on substrate as a casing so I’d think it would be ok.

I don’t use liners but I think generally people cut their liners at substrate level to prevent this. It should be okay to cut off and get out of the way just prevent touching any myc

you are fine either way, dont stress about it. as long as its just an inch or two it wont hurt anything but feel free to tape it up if it bothers you, just be careful to not pull the liner from the side of the cake

Alright yeah it’s my first time using a liner. I probably cut it too high. It’s the water droplets dropping back onto the liner that’s doing it

I would not care about the liner as long as your spawn is clean you shouldn't have any issues.
I've had multiple liners get engulfed by the mycelia around a couple of their edges, doesn't do anything really of note.

Alright sounds good thanks. I think my sub is clean. Idk though. I have one tub fruiting now and this one is a week behind but it seems to be colonizing more on one side. I think I made the pseudo casing uneven or something.

Should be fine, I’ve had liners kinda curl over with no issues.  You could mist the side of the tub and push the liner up against it to make it stick if it worries you.  For me, I’d just leave it to avoid opening the tub during colonization.
