Can this be saved?
    #28376963 - 06/27/23 07:20 PM (1 year, 6 months ago)

This is my second time growing but 1st time in a shoebox and 1st time making everything myself instead of buying the grain etc

Not sure if too much air or not enough humidity caused this but i have a small fan on the lowest setting on all the time and i put another shoebox on top of the shoebox that has the substrate in it

I spray water on the top dome enough to cover droplets on the surface and respray when starting to dry

I was able to get a couple mushrooms to grow fully to clone but I guess since i didnt put in a liner of some sort i have a bunch of side pins and shrinking sub

Are these mushrooms that are half sized okay to consume or should i cut my loses and start again

You are spraying the lid? You need to spray the surface of the substrate and stop using the fan.

It´s mostly surface genetics and proper mixing up to prevent sidepins.
A liner can hekp also, but sometimes it´s just genetics.
There´s gentics you can do what they want, they give side/bottom pins.
I usually have a fan running, but NEVER pointed directly on the tubs,
just to bring air in movement.
Sure the pins are fine to consume,
don´t give up the tubs yet.
Rehydrate them properly and don´t fan directly.
You give them too much love i think

Baba beat me a bit
