Rate My Fruiting Chamber...let me have it
    #28374960 - 06/26/23 07:46 AM (6 months, 30 days ago)

Hey all,

I have been growing gourmet for a bit and slowly learning more and more. Here is my fruiting chamber layout, please tell me if there is something glaringly wrong or the ways you would improve it.

-8x8 vivosun tent

-Standard wire shelves to hold blocks.

-Humidifier is the plastic tote and house of hydro special. I have a 9 disc mister. The unit has a 6" duct that is connected to an external 390 cfm fan in the room that remains on high 24/7. The outlet is a 4" flange to a pvc pipe to bring the humid air closer to the top of the chamber. This is controlled by a humidity controller form Inkbird. I have messed with a couple settings but larger keep it at around 95% humidity. I find that on another small gauge on the other end it reads 7-10% less than what the Inkbird is set at, so I keep it pretty high. If anyone has a recommendation for a good container for this let me know, all the tote I find have too much structure on top that leaks moisture and air.

-FAE is dictated by the first fan connected to the humidifier then two additional 390 cfm fans that both remain on the low setting 24/7. These two fans have ports on the bottom of the tent wall and exhaust air directly outside through a window duct, while these are 6" ducts the port for outside necks down to 4" (This is mainly because of space issues). This system provides me constant negative pressure, which keeps the humidity low in the room the tent is housed in and spores out of the air. There is also a rotating fan above the humidifier to help circulate that humidifier air.

-For lighting I have a couple strands of simple waterproof 6500K LEDS. These are on a timer and run for about 18 hours a day.

You're right, here is a picture. Also, I know the shelves are crappy. Swapping them for two wider shelves on wheel and a more water resistant finish.

Fuck yeah dude! When I started reading your description I was imagining a shitty bodgey grow tent. The way you can tell it's legit is that you've got some great looking mushrooms growing in there!

How is it working for you? Lots of tinkering/ maintenance, or has it been set it and forget it? Much contam or mostly clean? Expensive to run?

This humidifier will solve your varied humidity problem in the different parts of the room.

https://www.amazon.com/Mxmoonant-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Horticulture-Preservation/dp/B08B7RC11X/ref=pd_ybh_a_sccl_5/137-5272920-3385936?content-id=amzn1.sym.67f8cf21-ade4-4299-b433-69e404eeecf1&pd_rd_i=B08B7RC11X&psc=1

Within 1 minute you will have your room split pea soup filled with fog so that you can't see the other side. I have the same size FC as you. I run it 1 minute every hour with a slightly faster exhaust(440 CFM) than you, although I run mine on low-medium now, instead of on high. So mine is not running at 440 now.

--------------------
Plan to win or you are planning for failure. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do it. Just figure out the solution. Even if that means banging your head on a wall until the solution oozes out of you.
