Monotub contamination pattern.

Hi, I've been trough a almost ten unsuccessful monotubs in the last year. It seems to me that it's always the same pattern repeating. The monotub is 27x45 cm wide and 35cm tall. I've used a ratio of 4:1, on coco coir/vermiculite/gypsum bulk mycelium substrate, with mycelium (B+) on bird's seed substrate. I close the holes of the monotub, I put the liner, I mix the bulk substrate and the mycelium I close the monotub, put in a dark place and wait for pins. Pins never arrived, the contamination started at around two weeks from incubation, when the mycelium had almost finished the work on substrate. A green area develoved on the surface near the liner in the middle of the long side. Further inspections on the substrate revelead that the substrate has a nice mycelization (I don't like "colonization" word) and the contamination is superficial. This pattern repeated every time I tried a monotub. I'm searching for advices, I'm fed of it. I'attaching a couple of photos, I hope they can give a better understanding. Maybe the mycelium is contaminated? Last time I've did a G2G transfer in a SAB. But this happened also when I've just injected liquid culture (bought one) from injections ports. Maybe I'm not sterile enough? Ok, I didn't take my shower, I've just wahed my hads and arms and put some clean clothes. Maybe I'm just repeating an old pattern, I don't know. Thank you

I´d recommend to start a grow log in your account-journal. Post your pics from the start, so agar, then your grain jars and so on. Be precise with the steps, every other is just a guessing game now. It´s quite sure unhealthy spawn, we need the time frame when it happens. Notice your PC time, venting time, any detail is helpful. Just right from the start and give some pics.

I agree with Goatrider, probably bad grain spawn. Also, my personal opinion is that millet is more prone to contam. Most wbs has tons of millet in it. Maybe try other grains just to be sure and definitely double check your PC tek. LC can also be quite dirty. You need to drop it on agar to be certain it's clean. At that point you might as well do an agar to grain transfer, I stopped getting contam when I switched to agar transfers for everything.

Thank you. I add another detail: the contamination seems near one of the holes. It's not the first time. I used duct tape to close them. I thought it was not breathable. Maybe I'm wrong?

probably coincidence? I haven't heard of confirmed surface contam for non-nutritious substrates/casings. It's kind of the whole point with using coir

So what you suggest, if I_'m not wrong, is to change grain (which grain you suggest?), make a grain spawn, test it on agar, transfer agar on new grain?
