Micropose filter discs for LC?
    #28372107 - 06/24/23 01:00 AM (1 year, 6 months ago)

Hi,
does anyone have experience with micropose filterdiscs for liquid culture? Until now I am using syringe filters but even after roughening the surface of the lid the silicone sometimes gets loose. Sticking just a filter on top of a hole sounds very promising.
Are they any good?

Thanks for helping

I don´t like this thin microppose stuff,
i´d even take double layered toilet paper instead.
People tend to have good results with it,
but i´d at least double layer it.
I´m in team polyfill

Try without a filter. If you fill your jar or what ever only 1/3 or 1/2 way then there is enough air in there for the LC to colonize. That way you can shake vigorously without worrying about getting the filter wet.

:whathesaid:

I missed the LC part.
Better without filter,
syringe filters are even worse.
