Hey guys! I'm in my third flush, and I've noticed that there are yellow mold-looking things starting to grow on the surface of the substrate and aborts. I grew it out on an agar plate and this is what it looks like
have you guys seen anything like this? Does anyone know what kind of mold this is?

You need a microscope to be correct about it, but as Baba said, the yellow could be Aspergillus Flavus. Nevertheless there´s a Fusarium species starting out yellow, then turning into red. But as said to make it sure you need a microscope.

Here are the photos, the hyphae are dyed blue

There are no conidia with transverse septation, so it's not fusarium. didn't see any conidia in chains or vesicles, so probably not Aspergillus. it's not a very good slide so I might have missed it. the conidia are yellow, and it appears it grows in clusters. Also, looks like it's coenocytic hyphae.

We have to start a new forum, the Contamery But we have member Kizzle on the board, providing damn great knowledge with scientific value. Maybe he´ll jump on this thread, he´s still active now and then. Also member Tmethyl comes to mind. These guys won´t steer you wrong. Here is one of Kizzle´s great threads.
