Looks great, just keep doing what you’re doing.
If it gets like this then peel the myc off, I haven’t been saving it but you can trip off that also.

Okay after some reading I understand this is an example of extreme overlay. When does one know when to remove the overlay? Once you see some pins forming? This is a very annoying downfall to learn about.
Does P. Nat take longer to pin than normal cubes? It definitely seems to be on the slower side in comparison with some other types I've got going and spawned on the same day.
Anybody out there have a tame culture they're willing to share? lol. How does one isolate no-overlay-genetics? This overlay shiz is all new to me. Looks kinda gross. 😝

me. There are no guarantees that what I have won't overlay, but it doesn't readily happen with these genetics.
Edit: I honestly think you should wait it out after looking at your picture again. But you can still hit me up.

Much appreciated JW! I may hit you up in a week or so, gonna see this through. I got this as a freebie culture from a spreswap order so maybe it'll pin up soon.

Welp I may be hitting you up sooner than later. Just snapped these, things ain't looking so good suddenly. I assume the green shit is trich and I need to dump this ASAP?

Edit: I don't understand how this got contaminated. None of the other tubs I spawned that day are and the spawns all looked great.
Could it have happened during the spawning sequence? I use CVG.

Was hollow and only weighed 4g wet.

So is it possible to work an overlaying culture into one that reliably fruits? I'm cloning plate pins in an effort to do so but maybe it's a waste of time and I'm better off going back to a new spore print?

Man, I really geeked out on this thread and everyones contributions to it for ages, then my chance to check out Natalensis for myself came around!
Other than my outdoor pot, my first run with Natalensis is finished. I've eaten a lot, shared a lot and got some clone-plates/ prints made for future endevours. Overall I've found them really awesome- a fun, attractive, interesting and durable fruit to cultivate!
Here are a few my favourite pics from about a million I've taken since April;

The black hat nats seem to be sporeless, going to microscope the gills to be sure.

Edit: nearly sporeless. There were a few dozen on the gill sample I looked at, usually there would be way too many to count.

How does this looks to you, as a first Natalensis grow and second one ever? One think, this is the second flush and it was of 169 grams fresh, the first flush was less, around 100 grams.
Not complaining at all, please read it with a "neutral tone": is this "normal" for a myco-quart if spawn? With my first grow (B+) I was harvesting twice that weight.
