Hey
New to this and started off with some BRF cakes and I've got no signs of germination just wondering if I've done something wrong as i did the following:
240ml (1/2 pint) wide mouth mason jars 2 part verm 1 part water 1 part brown rice flour made sure verm was wet but not dripping
put a 1/2 inch layer of verm ontop of the mix in the jar
I don't own a PC but a multicooker with a canning feature and let it go for 120 mins and then waited over night (8+ hours) to cool down before taking them out
inoculated in a SAB, made sure everything was as clean as possible before going in, iso sprayed and let dry the inside of the SAB and then wet down the inside of the SAB with bleach water mix and had a damp bleach water towel laid down inside as a clean surface
shook the syringe before inoculating and flame sterilised and 70% iso wiped needles before each jar
and the jars are currently like below
sorry the pictures aren't that interesting
jar 1/2

 jar 3/4

Please forget about wiping the needle with iso as you want to sterilize it, not sanitize. Hope you wiped first, then flamed. The other way is never recommended. Just flame.
The rest sounds ok, but when did you inoculate? Depending on the age of spores, it can take some time to see signs of germination.

yes I did flame then iso. I'll rectify that next time thank you for pointing that out. I assume I need to wait for the needle to cool before injecting because of the heat damaging the spores(?)
today will be going on 6 days since I've inoculated them

You can squeeze the barrel gently to release a little drop, or you can wait ~20-30 seconds to let the needle cool down. 6 days isn´t that much, just be patient. The hardest part

easy mate cheers for the information, I wasn't sure if I needed to change anything next time considering the lack of any sign of germination

It´s just important you understand the meaning of sterilizing and sanitizing. As you sterilized your jars, you never want to put something in that isn´t sterilized either. So with finally wiping, possibly something landed on the needle that just got sanitized, but not killed. It will enter the jar as a sleeper, or worst case starts work immediately. You may be lucky it worked though, as you don´t see signs of unwanted growth. So kill everything on the needle with flaming, and repeat this for each other jar. This weekend you should see germination
