Is this normal? Fluffy blobs on top of casing

Hello everyone. I've been using this site for info for a while now and finally signed up. I've only done one brf cake grow so far and am on my second. This time I am trying the shoebox tek posted by ShaperDreaming. This is my first post here and first time trying a bulk substrate. This past Friday night(2ish days ago) I spawned 2 cakes into bulk. This morning I noticed this growth on my casing and wasn't expecting to see anything like this as early as its shown up. In the picture you can see it also grew on the wall of the tub. I wasn't sure if it is a contam or if I'm just overthinking. I havent found any pics of what I'm seeing so if anyone has the time to to tell me what they think, I'd appreciate it. This grow is APE's in a CVG sub instead of just coir as in the tek.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe you´ve a bit higher temps there? Things may move quite fast then. Doesn´t look like contam to me. Mycelium on the wall happens now and then, even possibly a shroom may grow from there.

When I mixed in the sub it was still a tad warm from the oven pasteurization 6 hours or so before. So yes at that time but since then it's been sitting at room temp 72°F to 76°F maybe higher but no more than 78°F. I also noticed a large amount of colonization underneath the casing as well. Maybe it just moved faster than I expected and that's all. I thought it would be at least another day or two before it got this far.

What ratio of substrate to spawn are you using? A lower ratio of substrate will often colonize faster. For future reference, if you use plain coir, or coir and verm, it doesn't usually need to be pasteurized, unless perhaps the coir is really dirty and suspect. There is a video here from one of the Shroomery Trusted Cultivators, which takes you through how to prep coir and verm substrate:
-------------------- How to post pictures to shroomery TEK
Shroomery Trusted Cultivator And Member YouTube Channels.
“Evey Hammond: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is”

Thanks for the link to the video! I hadn't read anywhere that I didn't need to pasteurize with this substrate. Good to know.
I followed the tek using 1:1.5 spawn/sub. Makes sense that it would be faster that way.
