Tom's channel has a great review on this flowhood.
(Aren't vague posts irritating?)

This one on zon, right?
I vaguely remember that vertical flowhoods are not great for mycology, but I dunno.

I see some vertical units in commercial gourmet growers' videos but horizontals are much more common.

It doesn't seem too bad, however, keep in mind that this isn't actually a laminar flow hood- its structure quite literally wouldn't allow for laminar flow. This is because it doesn't have a airflow-restrictive door on it, which is my second concern, giving further opportunity for contamination.
All in all, from what I've seen, there's nothing wrong with still air boxes when compared to flow hoods, and while I haven't used still air boxes, it seems that they can be constructed for much lower prices, while maintaining similar rates of efficacy.

I can say that when I started I was fretful that I didn't have a flow hood but my success rate in the SAB has been acceptable. The main reason I want a flow hood is not for better sterile technique, but because working in the SAB is so damn awkward!

Pretty good for what? It won't do a good job as a still air box since it's flexible and there'll likely be movement, defeating the whole point of still air. That's why rigid containers such as totes are most often used. A good sized tote is also less than half the price of that.
