@keylime, you might not get dosage advice here in a cultivation/gardening forum. Maybe try psychedelic experience forum if not.

It's like 250mg - 1 gram or so depending I think, but a bunch of steps away from raw cactus material. The information is on the internet I promise.

The one on the right looks a little “trichy”. Hard to say. Though, not to make any assumptions, these pics look like they are taken from the street…as in they are on someone else’s property. Just don’t go taking a cut without express permission, it’s not cool to jack someone else’s plants.

First pic is Cereus Peruvianus I believe. The cactus on the right in the second pic looks like a fat pachanoi, the one on the left looks like pilocereus.

Thanks Hummingbird and KannaKris that's great news. I'm not planning on stealing them Soloist, I just didn't want to go to the trouble of knocking on a stranger's door and asking for cuttings without first being sure of what they are.

No problem man
Yes, always ask, and never steal/poach plants.
You'd be surprised just how many nice people will let you take cuttings from their plants, if you just ask
Just the other day, a nice little Latino lady caught me out in the yard, and she wanted some of my opuntia. I have a big old stand growing in front of my house. But yeah, she was nice enough to ask, and not just walk up and take them, so I hooked her up with a bunch of fat pads. She left so happy, and I could tell that I made her day. Mainly because she loves to eat them, and that my area is totally devoid of all cacti. I might be the only person in my whole town that actually grows them to be quite honest, haha!
Good luck, and keep us posted

I'd say that pach is worth asking for a cutting of for sure. It's cool how it looks like it's busting through the fence, then you look down and see it's actually in front.

What an evil winter we had. Lost maybe half my trichs! All of flowering size, loads of trays of misplant hybrids, most of my crests and monstrose, lots of chilensis. Only a couple of lophs succumbed, but trichs were hit especially bad, even terscheckii's balked. . But of the survivors some are pristine and unfazed by it all.

I’d argue against that, it’s more potent and faster growing than peyote, not to mention relatively cheap when you buy a big cluster.
Good point.. I didnt know it ran higher than peyote. Maybe it's been more of an economic or grower instead of user focused situation. Or maybe some been ingesting all along.I remember discussing this and seeing the bio essay years ago and the vets then acted like it was old news.

Were they all in the same spot? What made some come through unharmed and others fall apart?

Deaths occurred in both greenhouses whether on benches, raised pots, or in-ground. Of those outside, protected from getting soil rained on in winter, again a mix, some died, some thrived. Never had this many losses in one year, winters usually pass without event. Amazingly some xmas cactus got left in a greenhouse and they didn't seem to mind. It's not that the minimum temps were beyond what my cacti have to endure over winter, it just lasted so long and daytime temps barely ever rose more than nighttime, there was no swing and things just succumbed eventually.

I try to. I think I've seen some people recommended to not water for a week or so after causing any damage to the root system too, saying they're vulnerable to pathogens. Does anyone else follow this Or just find it BS?

I rake out the roots and I don't water cacti or succulents after. I've lost a few jades over that maybe just messed up but why chance it plus they'll easily survive a week dry.
