How bad is the potency loss from air exposure really ?
I have had a bunch of shrooms just airdrying for like weeks without storing them are these all gonna be duds or does it not matter that much? Canβt find any answers anywhere and just wondering, waiting for my dehydrator to be delivered so cant do much yet

air dry hands, not mushrooms..
i think moisture is the biggest issue. mushrooms will absorb atmospheric moisture, and that will absolutely degrade your potency quickly.. who knows if they even dried properly.. i wouldn't want to eat them..

i dont have a dehydrator yet so i put them on paper towel with a fan, some are cracker dry, some arenβt, but theyβre all getting a whole lot of oxygen and air exposure

Go to a thrift store and pick one up for cheap. You don't want to spend all that work on growing some goodies just to fumble the ball 3 yards from the goal line
From what I understand (and hopefully a TC can correct me if I'm misinformed)
The enzymes responsible in a facilitating the cascade reaction that turns psilocybin into psilocin and finally into the quinone psilocyl oligomer (that is the blue bruising we see) are denatured in about 15 seconds at 160f and around 15 minutes at 145ish f So my understanding is the quicker we can bring the temp up and start dehydrating the quicker we "lock in" the potency, and is in part why dehydrators are recommended

I doubt there'd be much potency left after being exposed for weeks frankly.

V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he isβ

as of right now they are completely fine, after weeks, some even a month and a half, just wondering when the point of real potency loss starts and how much I have to worry about it.
