Identification help (pics)
    #2835791 - 06/28/04 10:14 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I found these near my house in east Tennessee. Thay where growing under some hard woods on a small hill there is moss and some wispy grass all around. I believe the first ones are chanterelles but the second I am not sure. The second ones have a one inch cap and a one inch stem the caps are light brown with rust colored dots. The interior of the stem is hollow and vary fibers and thay smell like crap.

The first ones are Chanterelles, that's for sure. Notice how they have veins that fork instead of gills.

On the second one we'd need to know exactly what it's growing from and a spore print color to ID it.

Ok I am working on a spore print. As far as what thay are growing in it lookes like thy are coming right out of the dirt. Thay are growing about ten feet from the chanterelles. A good bit of the grownd is coverd in a green moss thay are coming up through that. And if I can get my other cam working I get some pics of where thay are growing. Thanks for the help gumby.
