Yep. Paul Bremer has left the building. The Iraq CPA is no more.

Should be an interesting week in Iraq.

I'm predicting that many will complain that he left after complaining that he was there. Just a hunch.

I believe they'll lose it minutes after we leave. Poetic justice.

Because it seems as though the iraqis don't want to be free. It's like they enjoy being dictated. They refuse to stand against those who are oppressing them, they are getting what they want and/or deserve.

mmm yeah.

So, the US comes, destroys the infrastructure, bombs the fuck out of the capital, destroys countless families by injust murder, and now all of a sudden...because Iraq will be in chaos....its the Iraqi's fault?

yeah, she was wearing a short skirt, she was asking for it.

the infrastructure is at higher levels then it was under Saddam.

That's a matter of perspective.

noone said it was the Iraqi's fault, but if you think they will ever be peaceful after we leave you are very naive.

teerible analogy that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

I was wrong, the electricity is AT pre-war levels (or close to it). Oil is also at or near pre-war status. I couldn't find anything on the sewage and sanitation but i'm sure that would be on par with the rest of the reconstrction (or close to it)

-the infrastructure is at higher levels then it was under Saddam.

your sources are laughable.

-That's a matter of perspective.

no its a matter of objectivity. Last night on the CBC I watched a piece of purely documentary footage which showed a group of US soldiers chase someone who they thought was running away, and then shoot the person from a distance. As they walked up, they quickly recognized that the person was a 10 year old boy, who, incidentally, was herding livestock.

- but if you think they will ever be peaceful after we leave you are very naive

I never proposed such a thing, it wont be peaceful, and it is very much the American gov't's fault, not the Iraqis. The Iraqis are not a unified group, they are diverse and opposed to one and other, just like the US.

not any more laughable than your blanket statement that they are not.

opps, that changed my mind. One person shot someone by accident which means ALL of the people that were killed were murdered.

....Like I said, it's a matter of perspective.

Because it seems as though the iraqis don't want to be free. It's like they enjoy being dictated. They refuse to stand against those who are oppressing them, they are getting what they want and/or deserve.

And how many Iraqis have told you this exactly?

I'm guessing none...

I was being sarcastic. I don't need to talk to Iraqi's to see that it "SEEMS" (that's why I put it "SEEMS").

I know this is not the Cambridge dictionary so you'll have to accept this.

seem ( P ) Pronunciation Key (sm)
intr.v. seemed, seem?ing, seems
To give the impression of being; appear: The child seems healthy, but the doctor is concerned.
To appear to one's own opinion or mind: I can't seem to get the story straight.
To appear to be true, probable, or evident: It seems you object to the plan. It seems like rain. He seems to have worked in sales for several years.
To appear to exist: There seems no reason to postpone it.

If it makes you feel better, the best man at my wedding and many of my friends (who just happen to be Iraqi (Chaladian)) think the US is doing the right thing.
