waiting on the beautiful bluhoneys friend to send me some compist so that i can try compost. but in NYC space is limited, supplies are not the easist to find. and compost and straw are not available :) basically i guess i'll be dumping the rye onto some moist verm (1/2 inch) then a layer of rye (1 inch good or more?) and a 1/3 inch of 50/50, on one tray its right out of the bag (has worked for me before without contams), one tray is going to be microwave "pastureized", and one is going to be PCed with my next batch of rye jars.

sound about good?

yup, except i'd go a bit thicker on the rye, about 2 inches instead of 1, for bigger stronger flushes.
