it is a common misconception that drawing is only a little beneficial a whole season you do it
really a little makes a big difference for the rest of your life
for example 5 minutes
draw or paint a little every day and more and more when spring becomes summer etc. same amount that you do in a session at least approximately 5 minutes

I envy people who retain the childlike ability to remain engrossed in drawing and painting.

it takes very little drawing to have it ok it's ok when you don't draw but how it has it is a different ballgame it's not anti-preferable without it

Well, the technical aspects of proportion and shading improve with practice I guess, like proficiency in relationships, which is equally difficult for me.

Ahh. One may attribute this as somewhat in the field of avoiding divine displeasure. (King David 'dancing' as an example?)

Why are some people's drawings more powerful than others?

I use these ideas
a) draw or paint what you like or love to add emotional voice to it b) make connections in the art using darks or lights or colors so that it makes sense to the puzzle solving mind c) keep on discovering unexpected relations in the work to engage the shock of the new d) return to the work later to add reflections from different mental states e) reduce noise and simplify

what do you think?

I've recently been making a bit of side money as a children's entertainer, and it's interesting to watch adults who are very resistant to running around playing and having fun.
Over time I observe some adults are able to overcome this resistance and let loose and have a fun time. I think many adults become handicapped with self-centered seriousness.
Art is very personal and often triggers self-loathing. (Hense the painting party gathering while drinking wine trend)

Yes. Recently a homeless guy entertained a 6 year-old, the spectacle of which I found bordering on the miraculous; something I am completely without capability. He went on to reveal that he had worked in a child daycare and that entertaining 50 of them was entirely different, but he had an energy that would prevail I think.
