KannaKris said: When I first started picking cubes over 20 years ago, I would always bring home a half trash bag full of manure too. It would always fruit again about one or two times and that was it. I tried adding more manure to keep it going, even crumbled colonized manure, and mixed it with more manure too, and I never got any more flushes ever. It just eventually started growing out grass and weeds.
I have even tried to use stem butts, and spawn that too composted manure too, to no avail. cubes are easy to grow, yes, but they are picky when it comes to non conventional ways to grow them, or so that has been the case for me.
You will be lucky if you get much more out of that no matter what you do, sadly, but good luck
Thanks for that..I was thinkn some of those things but scratched those ideas off earlier.. Im going with a sterilized substrate specifically for cubensis so hopefully might work alittle better..

I recommend learning agar and cloning asap. The very least taking a spore print while u learn agar then growing it fresh and cleaning it up.
The poo in our home... you even has the grass I'm impressed! Please continue to send pictures of them they look fascinating in the domesticated wild
Thanks Im going to try the dirty and nasty method as someone said earlier for now and see how it goes.. throwing some fresh clean stems in some new sterilized substrate.. ive got a few more popping up on the poo so any day now to migrate!!

lol that's not what they said, their "quick n nasty " method is actually a sterile technique tissue transfer in a sab/fh. No idea why they called it that, there's nothing quick or nasty about this.
don't throw a picked mushroom into sterilized nutritious media

Agar is just a money grab scheme perpetuated by the seaweed people. Carefully cut out that flesh in a sterile environment and whip that shit into your grains like a lawn dart. Dun.

Since you're a noob I'll explain we were joking and the preferred sterile method would be to make a still air box to work inside of, and put that cloned tissue into an agar dish, let the mycelium grow out, do a transfer or 2 into another agar dish, and then put that into your substrate. But if you're not down for that we won't push you. Just know that it gives you the best chance to continue the grow without contamination.

<$15 for a 90 or 110qt tub at target or walmart to be used as a still air box. If you buy the Telephone brand agar agar they have at asian stores that only a couple bucks, let's say $5 to be generous. You only need 1 pack to get started. Light malt extract $11+ depending on how much and what brand. Sterile pitri dishes can be as little as $10 for a small pack on amazon. Let's say you buy a bigger pack of sterile pitris for $20, though. You're lookin at around $50 give or take. You can get it down lower if you look around.

Clean mycelium is clean mycelium, doesn't matter if it comes from an agar wedge or the inside of a mushroom stem or cap flesh.

As fahtster said, you should absolutely take a sporeprint. You could continue growth and fruiting by shoving more poo on top of it, however, you will likely achieve greater and healthier growth by innoculating other individual poo's. This isn't at all difficult, and could literally be done by scraping a couple of spores onto a fresh/moist poo.
