I tried a bulk thing with coir, and it also worked! Not quite sure what you'd call this, I just tossed it in some glass tupperware - a shoebox for ants? idk if I used enough spawn though. I'm also not really sure how to provoke a second flush, or if I need to pick off all the little guys who stalled out. The caps aren't too dark, yet. I gave the thing a good misting after I picked these, but I'd imagine it's still thirsty. https://i.imgur.com/ZYY2qz5.jpg
I bet the answers to all my questions are in some old threads and such, I've been browsing but it can sometimes be hard to know exactly how to proceed. I've been kind of shooting from the hip/experimenting throughout the whole process, and I'm happy with the results. Feels like I'm playing with house money from here on out! It helps that I've got another set of cakes colonizing at the moment hehe.
Nice work!! Keep it up - you'll figure the site out eventually

Thanks Roscoe π Iβve harvested a total of 14.3 wet so far from this box over the past 3 days. I was probably overmisting as the myc didnβt seem to want to hold droplets and I was helicopter parenting. Iβm chilling out a bit now haha. Second shoebox has knots, also slow af to pin but Iβm letting it do itβs thing without messing with it.
Iβm not surprised it wouldnβt hold droplets. It doesnβt look colonized enough. The myc will bead up moisture, but if the majority of the surface is still coir it will absorb the moisture. Iβve had tubs pin through the coir instead of colonizing the surface. It is a bit harder to judge surface conditions when it happens. Try not to mist unless the coir gets dry, ie very light brown. Once it colonizes fully you can keep the droplets on the surface.

Very nice. GTs are a good way to learn about bulking out as they are quite forgiving.

I dub this day in my household "Thai Koh Samui Day". When these 12 shoe-boxes plus the other 10 of F+ come in full I'm gonna have a shit ton of work on my hands. My spawn rate was 900ml grain spawn to 3 lbs bulk. You may all return to your regularly scheduled programming.

First flush on my first all coco run is looking a little weak. The big boy that was ready for harvest is pretty solid and thick though.
Anything standing out visually that I may have done wrong?
This was the last of my UB bags and I added a lot more sub than I usually do. Probably ended up being like 2.5/1

Another round of grain plates. Well a cross between a brf puck and a grain puck.
PE6 because I have a good syringe. Pan Cyan, Natal Blue Meanie because I still havent got this syringe to fruit. This set is another good example of how well these work.

MVP syringe that hasn't produced a single good plate or BRF puck. The last ml gave one colony.
That colony was spread over 3 plates. There is hope. Not the 8 o'clock colony

I thought so too.
It is much harder to read when these things need water compared to plants.
I come from the gardening word where over/under watering is ridiculously obvious to identify but I canβt seem to get a feel down for this. Iβve been trying to use the weight of the tub as a reference point but thatβs to easy to second guess lol and because of my experience in the garden world overwatering feels like a sin to me so I keep finding myself on the dry side.
