Have to say that Nats are a hardy mushroom. Took a break from growing for a few months while two 8qt bags colonized and begged to be fruited. They sat at 100% for at least three months. Finally got around to fruiting them while gnats were being a nuisance and left town for a week just as the first tub was pinning. Returned home to 2700g of spaghetti:

This is one funky ass species

Got lazy and spread the spawn pretty uneven. I assume that's why my flush came on end of the mono

Do I just let my shoeboxes full of puffy overlay keep going? Will they fruit or is it a waste of time and I'd be better of going back to spores and trying to find a fruiting culture?

Some people peel off the overlay. It can be dried and consumed as it is also active. They will fruit through the overlay. While you are waiting go back to spore. If you keep having trouble me I can hook you up with some more that may not overlay.

'Black hat' nats. This is a clone and they all do this. Unfucking believably visual for nats. All the Nat prints I have been sending out are from a similar set of genetics.

Major overlay in both tubs but they still punch thru. Made this 54qrt tub using 2 myco qrts spawn to half a brick of coir. Crazy how the overlay tissue feels hard like mushroom stems and is dense.

Got 3 dub tubs with the top offset a bit for FAE. All spawned on 5-23 at 1:4:1 ratio (1 quart spawn, 4 cvg, 1 cvg top layer). Surface conditions look good. Anything else I should be doing besides nothing?

Finally near first harvest. I pulled the mature 5 and am printing them now while giving the rest another day or so until full shoebox harvest. Very interesting seeing the iridescent green bruising on the stems and caps. Also th gills are neat looking and very defined.

Nice! Pull them right when they flatten out for best prints, you can swab anytime

3lb. bag of Natalensis on low-prep WBR and pearled barley coming up on the 1 year mark. It is from MS, stored in a file box, in bag with 2 micron filter and has produced 0 mushrooms in that year. I'm thinking I'll spawn 1/2 and dry the other 1/2 for testing purposes.
