Bush doesn't know Abu Ghraib

Ok, I know this is going to sound frivilous to some of you but bear with me. The Daily Show showed a clip of Bush the other night mispronouncing Abu Ghraib. He called it "Abu Gref".
Jon Stewart said "When you mispronounce the name of the prison that is at the center of the prison abuse scandal, it does give the public the sense that you don?t give a fuck".
Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK. He thought it was called Abu GREF!? I think this speak volumes about what kind of leader George W. Bush is. How can he not fucking know the name of the prison at the center of one of the biggest scandals of his own Presidency. And it happened recently, to. Do they just wake him up for the press interviews?
TF!?????

It was pretty funny and pretty sad, but nothing more or less. There are so many legitimate gripes that can be made against Bush, why make a huge deal out of pronunciation(if that can even be called an alternate pronunciation). For the record, I'm a huge Daily Show fan. Any chance you caught Jon on Larry King the other night?

Has he ever said it correctly?
Was this the first time he was heard saying the name of that prison, and how long after he supposedly found out about is was this speech?
Did he call it Abu Gref more than once?
Maybe it's frivilous, and maybe it isn't, just depends on whether this is attributable to ignorance, and/or indifference... or something else.

what about when Wolfowitz was asked by a Senate committee if he knew the number of dead American soliders and he completely didnt know? Now, I think that is quite telling of how distant these war planners are.

It was a very recent interview. It was not a mispronunciation. Instead of "grey-b" he said "gref".
I mean, for Christ's sake. How........the FUCK doesn't he know the name of the fucking prison? I know he doesn't read the news, but you'd think that he would have heard the name once or twice per day for the last month or two or however long it's been since the pictures surfaced.

It was just another gem of clarity coming out of his mouth. They'rs been strong cases made, that bush didn't learn how to read untill recently. Like when asked what his favorite childhood book was he said (caterpillar?something) anyway it turns out that the book he was refering to wasn't published untill he was in his 20-30s.

From a Google search.....
Amendment XXII Source: Cornell Law
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Yes - Clinton could be nominated (and subseqently elected) Vice President, and could even Constitutionally serve as President again if he were VP and something happened to Kerry.
Some guys at the law dept at the University of Minnesota did some research and came up with 8 different scenarios that could theoretically put Clinton in the Oval Office again - some of them were a bit far fetched, as you can imagine. But it could happen.
I'll try to find a link later - heading off to meet the guy who's going to get Arlen Specter out of office!

Damn.. I can't find the study. I've not read it, only heard of it's existance secondhand.
I did find a link to a CNN article from 2000 explaining why the 12th amendment did not necessarily supercede the 22nd amendment, which would then allow Clinton to become VP (and President, should something befall the elected president) but would preclude him only from being elected president:
http://www.cnn.com/2000/LAW/08/columns/fl.dorf.goreclinton.08.01/
I'll keep searching for the study, tho.
