The Soul * 2
    #28337693 - 05/28/23 12:25 AM (7 months, 28 days ago)

Do you believe in the soul?

I have been thinking that if everything is arising from a field of consciousness then the soul is just part of that field of consciousness and is not necessary for things which souls might be necessary for.

If I go down a street and that street is named "soul street", then the name "soul" is just a label for the street, but if I go down the same street and nobody has named it, the street still exists because it leads to where it's supposed to go, the label doesn't dictate where the street goes.
,
The street name might be seen as a label for a certain religion/spiritual path, but since the path exists without the name, then one doesn't need the name to travel it but rather know how to travel it.

If, for example, one goes down the path of "Hindu street" there are lessons learned on "Hindu street", but one doesn't need to call themselves a Hindu to learn them, rather observe what's going on on Hindu street and integrate what is positive or beneficial into your being, no need for the label of Hindu.

This type of thinking might help individuals that have been harmed by occult groups, religious persecution, or people ostracized by certain eccentric spiritual practices who have been told that they need to do certain things in order to have "access" to a soul.
,
The word soul can have a lot of negativity attached to it, especially when related to certain religious/spiritual practices.  If everything is arising from a field of consciousness, and I am also an emanation from that field, then by logic I shouldn't need a soul to get "home" to "source" when the time comes.

I shouldn't have to do what a certain group, individual, or book says, rather if my mind is sharp I should be able to be ethical and moral on my own by simply observing reality and realizing how to treat others as I want to be treated, integrating the important stuff into my life and leaving the dogma behind.

If done in this way, then I don't have certain dogmas, or baggage attached to my belief because I came to realization on my own of what is beneficial and worth holding onto, I am walking the path and not trying to define it by what another called it because the path still comes from, and leads to source.'

If I am energy on the road and everything else is energy, then a soul might be seen as a label for a type of energy, this label doesn't need to exist for my energy to exist, my energy is independent of the created label of soul and free from any idea which might be attached to the idea of the soul such as some form of damnation if I don't do well in life, redemption based on some religious practice, or anything else associated with a heaven, purgatory, hell type situation since all are just experiences which arise from consciousness, I should only focus on being positive to the best of my ability (I am not perfect, nobody is) and navigating the road on my own learning from everything as I go, but not being defined by anything other than what makes me feel free/liberated from certain things which might put me in a strange state of mind.

Does this make sense?

The comment that all paths lead to Rome or home is an idea that means that all roads you go down the soul is still here always with you..

I think I understand what you mean

In a way no matter what I feel like maybe the same thing happens to us all either way as you kinda use in your post the concept of nama rupa , name and form everything is a name and a form , yet there seems to be some underlying aspect of this cosmos of name and form

Soul is just another name and form in reality and it means different things to different people , I don't personally believe in so much as a soul , but a life force that is present in us, the "breath of life" if you will , animation .. and that could be in everything as we like to see our selves as seperate things in this universe

I think what we really are is consciousness itself and as I understand it isn't an object , can't be witnessed , wasn't created , is outside of change , therefore cannot be effected by time or any type of change as it witnesses all change , it's almost like silence where all sound eminates the most common yet mysterious aspect of our being

I could be rambling at this point , I enjoyed your post though!

Agreed there is no 'should have to.' Choices are about usefulness. Terms like soul are conveniences.

Worthy teachings, or one's own, bring the higher autonomy.

I was put in my soul on Ayahuasca.

It was the color of egg yoke.

And it was a circle that I passed through.. until there was only me as a perfect consciousness alone, but in perfect peace.

OP your metaphors work just fine in getting point across. That what we do best in communication, getting thought to words making clear comprehension.  Now, just as you used those words and ideas to communicate your perspective, many a folk could use the word soul, along with other words, and portray a whole pictured perspective.

For seem reason or other, years ago, contemplating such words, I found that spirits are of the mind and soul is at heart.  How and why came to this?  Can only see that communicating such to others in time and place when sharing speech of such topic, I sharing those words brought beneficial insight at best.

Lucis I really I appreciate those metaphors and they did a great job of conveying your ideas.  I understand what you are saying.  I think a lot of this may also be personal and subjective as well.  People's personal beliefs and definitions of "soul" may vary.

For some reason this just makes sense to me as well.
