would you?
i'm not talking of those pea protein vegan miracles, not talking insect burgers but actual bovine and tuna flesh, lab grown tissue?
lets say, it looks good, smells good, has the right consistency anbd mouth feel, it is nutritious delicious and passes through you better than the real thing, costing less than the real thing, without animal cruelty.
To avoid Trees going Kramer in my ratings: this is not a trap, there is no right answer or intent to shame people.
please mention your meateater status and why you would or wouldnt.
in this group, please be philosophical about discussing merits and objections. its a very profound concept, animal tissues without animals.

Let’s be honest. I’m sure we’ve all eaten worse.

Not only would I eat it, I'd love to try and make it myself. Think about that's an industry that might have future application in space exploration? People gotta eat

Lacto veg for many years. I don't think I'd eat it because not appealing.
In terms of why some yogis don't consume it, which is essentially those toxins, subtle or not, from fear and other unwanted states of the animal, I wonder if meat like that would still be considered having some carry, as they say there is no life without spirit, so something of the nature would be in it. Meat is considered tamasic, of inertia, darkness. Hindus generally may say no.

Growing or creating meat could be seen similar to growing a plant..
Time and effort..
3D organic printing..
A household printer where you can print a McDonald's burger.
If the cells are equal to that of naturally grown material.. then I see no reason not to embrace this technology.

I would eat these, I think it's reasonable in regard to how many insects humans remove with insecticides to harvest our agricultural crops.
Be it lab grown, or insect processed, I like the idea of investing and continuing growth in both of them.
If we could efficiently capture the insects that feast on crops and harvest them for meat substitutes it'd be a sight to behold imo. Scale is adaptable.
I'd rather we capture the insects that feed on our crops, and eat them instead, rather than killing them with insecticides.

I would be open to it. I'm skeptical of various things humans consume these days but not inherently against GM foods.
I eat lots of meat, beef, chicken, sardines, anchovies, occasionally salmon. I would eat GM meat if it was delicious. Would be interested in the fat profile, along with production cost and resource usage.

For sure! But I'd take it even a step further, and do the same for fruits and veggies, and all the rest. Hell, let's build some Star Trek food replicators and synthesize all the food and drinks, and let nature be. Live symbiotically and in harmony with the rest of creation. One can only dream!

I'd eat it, sure, why not? If it were created in a high-tech laboratory which controlled its exact composition, taste, texture, and made environmental contamination impossible, it'd be safer to eat than real meat.
My understanding is because of the heat/energy and material inputs required, it's actually still much less efficient than current forms of livestock farming - albeit maybe better placed to hide these externalities - and there are many other issues to work out, including the physics of scaling to hypothetically make it cheap enough to be widely adopted by consumers.

Lab grown meat it Not an alternative yet, cause you need insanely many liters of bovine fetal serum albumin for animal tissue culture, which is extracted from the blood of cow fetuses. It's quiet cynical to call it an alternative imo lol
There should be more Research in substitutes for bovine fetal serum albumin, cause it's the magic key to ethical animal tissue culture...

If it tastes good/similar to regular animal meat, I don't really give a shit how it was created.

you have catfood, dogfood, babyfood, it always appealed to me to have cans of humanfood, happy healthy human with good skin, clear eyes and shiny hair smiling on the tin, and in it a delicious goop that has alkl nutrients in very healthy compositions, and you'd have different kinds like lowcarb, vegan, hard worker, pregnant etc. and a tongue in cheek brand name like Basic Bitch because you are skipping cooking

I've thought I should be hooked up to some regimen of essential nutrients if I'm going to have people living inside my body and brain...!!
