Nah, it's powered by only 12 volts. You would have to really try hard to get bit by the high voltage side.
You would be surprised. Lol

Very late to this conversation, here's a link to a chili recipe. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27090797#27090797

I feel mega trolled since he says that the 6qt will fit the 500ml media bottles, while my 6qt doesn't. Apparently it needs to be the IP-LUX model?
Why don't you go lux my balls instapot?

Actually I think puddin has an 8 qt. At least there's lots of other things you can do with it. And most importantly the chili recipe.

My 6qt lux model will fit 5 regular mouth pint jars, which seems to be the most efficient use of jars in 6qt I've seen yet. More than 2 big quarts stuffed in an 8qt i'm sure.. Or you can fit 20 + holy grail pp5 containers (according to others), or 14 twist n lock pp5 containers for no pour. 15 if the vent wasn't in the way. No complaints here! Why is everyone so adamant about their media bottles? lol I get it, that sucks they don't fit, but don't plain jars work fine. Even with the 8qt the tall media bottles need to be set in at an angle though right?
I got mine at goodwill practically brand new for like 25 bucks, so willing to make due with whatever fits. I got the jars at the same goodwill for 5 bucks too, all brand new in the case still. Could make way more agar than I currently need, if using 5 of them to pour with.. My whole setup was less than the price of a fancy lab grade slim neck bottle, lol. I still want one too though, dangit.. and gonna cut a hole and weld a stainless steel cap on the lid to one of my instant pots, so the tall media bottles will fit perfect with the extra little space up above. I don't see why it would effect the.. err.. Do not follow me for any more bad ideas
Also, the warming function can be set to turn on after the manual cooking cycle (it does by default actually), so yes it will keep it up to temp as long as you need. You can set the timer to not only start cooking, but also for how long it stays warmed. Have it run, and be at perfect temp right when you get home from work, etc.. It holds the perfect temp for pasteurization with that particular function, which could be very useful other than just keeping agar warmed as well.

My new water bath brf cake tub. It's two agar cups and a sushi mat cut to fit. Total cost excluding the tub about $1.10. Such a deal 😀

Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic, but that sushi mat could potentially grow mold in that humid environment, right? Or is it plastic?
