South Dakota Cubensis!?!
    #2833215 - 06/27/04 01:33 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

This past weekend I found 16 psylocibin cubensis shrooms growing out of horse mmanure in a pasture in South Dakota. I have had experience finding these mushrooms before (only in SE states however) and am positve that these were cubensis mushrooms from the macroscopics, spore print, smell, and trip (yes I did ingest them and trip). My question is not if this is possible, because I know first-hand that it is, but how this was possible? Was this a naturally occuring fluke, did somebody spread spores around, or is it not even that odd to find cubes in South Dakota? I know nobody can give me a positive rationalization, but I am just curious to likely explanations.

If they are infact cubensis, that is *extremely* rare.
