Came across this on another site, I think it’s gotta be the frostiest I’ve ever seen.

My gf's sister had some dispo weed that looked just like this. Looking at it up close it wasn't as sparkly as it seemed like it should be to me...I checked it with a scope and saw that there were a lot of large cystolithic hairs mixed in with the trichomes. The contrast of the light color hairs against the dark color flower made it look unbelievably frosted.

Idk if that's a genetic trait or someone figured out an additive to boost those or what...but that looks just like the weed I was talking about above...which is why I felt compelled to comment on it.

I could be wrong, it's not the most clear pic. I definitely know it's not always easy getting really nice clear pics of dried trimmed weed.

This plant starting to droop so much at night I thought there was a problem. Reviewing the camera you can see it droops quickly at sunset and then slowly perks back up by morning. Leaves still want to curl up, but maybe it's just the strain. Seems healthy.

Sour stomper auto. Germinated around April 11th.

Is neem oil spray bottle safe for young sprouts? Something has been nibbling on a couple of expensive seeds.

Northern Lights auto getting ready to flower, smells great, and you'll notice a bit of leaf damage.
It's what happens when you go fill your water bucket and your cat gets to nibble a leaf or two.
Learned my lesson.

I’d get a different garden spray, neem is good for vegging plants… it’s probably okay  right now, but don’t keep using it.

"what is the difference between indica and sativa?"

"The Real Difference Between Indica and Sativa Plants"

TLDR: Sativa/Indica are outdated classifications that only refer to morphology, and do not represent a difference in effects. Chemotypes or Chemovars are the new way to differentiate modern cannabis plants (which 95% are hybridized) with various ratios of cannabinoids.

Basically, sativa doesn't mean head high and indica doesn't mean couchlock. They're bad terms to use and it's mostly just supported by marketing now to let customers think they're making a choice and know what they want. Feels insulting to the intelligence when people throw those two terms around to describe something so complex and variable as cannabis. I know some of us are still attached to our favorites but just wanted to spread the word.

You're really hung up on this, huh?

People are gonna keep on growing landraces, and enjoy them to the fullest, and modern hybrids, having their own place, will not take theirs.

I grew out X18 cider kush (Tom hills)
It is a pakistan landrace heirloom
(Only a male tho)
I used x18 pollen on apple fritter.
"Apple cider kush"

Those were great plants. I never had a female x18 tho.
I also have seeds of original afghan kush and pakistan valley kush seeds. Never grew them. I have them listed on strainly.
I want to grow the x18 again (I have 3 more seeds).

Aka had some cool Laos landrace.

Yeah I also have a mix from hash producing villages in Afghanistan and some Indian ones called rasoli I haven’t grown yet.

Landraces are awesome. The one Afghan I grew out smelled exactly like pears it’s the first time I’ve seen that one.

Nice and compact

The indicas are easy but man the landrace Sativa is a whole different animal.

It's crazy the kind of smells plants can put out. My plant from last year came out smelling like a lavender and  kush type smell. I've never smelled anything like it but it smelled and smoked GREAT lol

Sure. All I'm saying is when you go into a shop and the carts and strains are all labeled as "sativa hybrid" or "indica hybrid" basically they aren't saying anything, even though our minds hear "upbeat energetic high" or "pain relieving, sleepy high". Some strains do follow their label's stereotypes and some don't, but the point is there are more accurate ways to describe the high in terms of thc:cbd levels and terpenes present vs simple indica vs sativa. A 75% sativa hybrid isn't going to automatically be less euphoric than its landrace parent or more euphoric than a 75% indica.

Did you forget that hemp used to be a landrace sativa before they bred all the THC out of it? To represent it as a sativa now would be misleading, but people do exactly that with any other strain.

My state's not even legal yet but the CBD shops are selling the THC analogues, basically all lab shit, and they still have the balls to label them sativa/indica as if they didn't all come from a hemp plant or lab.

Yeah that is admittedly a bit funny.

You know, I do gotta say you make a valid point. But then again, it's not valid enough. I mean you might as well complain about every strain that's in the wrong category for it's effect, but there's more to it than effect. There's how it grows too and in the end, it's basically down to whatever the breeder thinks the plant leans to.

Man you could grow an indica outdoors for 20 generations on hawaii and you'd get a sativa even when inbreeding the entire time.

But it annoys me too at times you know. I mean I could state all day how I like indica's more than Sativa's and I generally do, but then there are plants that are labeled more Sativa, like White Widow, which I would definitely put under Indica in it's effect. Though it's not indica enough to be completely indica, and in it's original form of growth it's more of a Sativa. Just a little more in my opinion, but still.

I generally need to look up parentage to know what I'm dealing with. Tells me more than Indica or Sativa.
But that's where I come from. I have experience with the parentage. Some consumers have experience with nada, zilch, nothing, and they need a general guide. Those who think S or I will be enough info to choose, will be surprised more often than not. When talking Sativa or Indica I think it's important to differentiate between what quality you are talking about, is it the leaf shape, is it the effect, or is it the shape of the calyxes or buds? There's infinite combinations these days and to add to the complexity not all strains do everyone the same way.

But imagine how complex things would get if we had to go from smell components. Are you ready to teach everyone how Geranyl Acetate smells? Or how about Linalyl acetate? Cimene? Myrcene? I mean even the last one is a tricky one and that's one that's present in just about every strain. Yet it's effect is basically nothing without the other parts of the grand orchestra that make up a fragrant bud.

I definitely agree chemotype is how final product should be described and not how the plant looked.

Sativa/indica labels are only useful to me now when talking about growing so I know what to expect from the plant.

Pretty excited to flip these soon. The gorilla cookies x mimosa evo on the right is such a beautiful plant. Then the somango in the close up is more of a vine than a plant

Possibly fucked up the ratio. Said 1:19 so I did 4oz to a half gallon. I suck at measuring.
