You know it's the end of the world when diurnal birds are turning nocturnal.

At night time, I'm hearing lots of birds tweeting and making song and talking to each other. I've never heard this before at night. I just started noticing it this year when I'm outside smoking at night. I know these birds are usually diurnal because they're the same birds that tweet and make song during the day.
This is just an observation I have made recently. Is anyone else hearing birds at night time that are supposed to be diurnal? How long have you noticed this for?
It's really sad that the human light pollution is now affecting bird circadian rhythm. Humans have lost touch with all of their spiritual roots and now birds are going down with us. We all know it's the crazy one's that like to stay up late in the middle of the night.

Is it consistent? Predators or something unusual may be keeping them up. Not to deny light pollution and such.

I'm now reading that in the spring, male birds will tweet and make song at night in order to attract a mate.
But I've literally never heard birds tweeting and communicating with each other at night. And it's now almost summer, barely spring anymore.

It's not just light pollution, it's noise pollution as well. Easier to communicate when the humans are sleeping. Birds are more adaptable to human environments than a lot of other types of animals.

After becoming more aware of watching birds, I've seen and noticed soooo much more ... today I saw 4 or 5 babies all learning to fly, taking big leaps throughout the tree in the backyard , fluttering about all small and proud
Maybe your just more aware of it now, the birds have always sung their songs

By night you mean late into the day, and are not just confusing us with the natural sound of birds getting up at 3 or 4 in the morning, right?

By night I mean a few hours after sunset and a few hours before sunrise. I'm talking like 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am, continuous tweeting, not just a few tweets here and there.
Birds aren't really supposed to wake up until 5 or 6am, even roosters don't even start making their first "cock a doodle doo" until at least 5am. I used to live in an area where people had livestock and the roosters would make their first sound at 5am. By 6am, they were ALL awake and you could hear them all if you went outside. Good thing you couldn't hear them with the doors and windows closed.
