First it can grow on PDA agar. It grows faster than other mychorizzhal fungi.

Second it can fruit on very young pine tree. Even a couple years old.

And last it can absorb organic matter and organic nitrogen.

So it should be many times easier than boletus edulis or chanterelle.

What do you think guys?!

it's not the point. need to start from something and build tek around it. and after getting success expand on something else the tek and knowledge. there are many suillus and some are not so terrible to eat.

Lots of Suillus on my yard.. Good on the pan especially S. luteus..
S. bovinus all over, along its friend Gomphidius roseus.  Weird companion there...
Thanks for the tip... about PDA..

Try Tylopilus felleus, thought it might be a bit too much for eating.. lol

I don't remember what this is, but I've posted it before...

Well as you mentioned they are mycorrhizal, that requires logistics that end up costing more than the product would be worth (with the possibility of failure).

Not only would they be really hard to grow, they w
Might not have a very high demand because most don't eat them.  Even the more attractive, young specimens of Suillus that I find, I don't eat. I just never tried them but some smell pretty good.  And I am a mychophagist.  They just aren't that desirable due to their slimy textures and yellow flesh that has a tendency to change color
