i don't really have a permanent address. i guess my parents address is my "permanent address" in that i've been using it to file taxes and whatnot. it still says their address on my driver's license...
but i don't live there, and i won't be in that area in november. so my question is... how do i vote?
(i'm sure this is a simple question and i could have figured it out myself... sorry for being lazy but surely someone here's got the answer...)
1) Obtain an absentee ballot from the state where your driver's license is registered (something you should look into at least a couple months before the election, as it will take time for them to send it out and time for you to send it back in).
2) Register to vote in your current state of residence. You do not have to be a "permanent resident" (whatever that's supposed to mean) of a state in order to vote there. The only caveat is that if you register to vote in a given municipality you will also be placed in their jury duty pool and could get called up if your name is pulled. You could also conceivably get called up to serve jury duty in two different states at the same time, which, believe it or not, once happened to me.
