The worst thing any kids at my school did was a line a blow, times have changed. I personally don't blame the person who got it in this instance. Everyone is responsible for their own dosage, should have titrated up, as well as one person standing by with narcan. Or stop doing garbage drugs.

Teen girl charged with murder after classmates die from fentanyl overdose

A 17-year-old girl has been charged with murder in the overdose deaths of two of her classmates, authorities said Thursday.

Two teenage girls were found dead Tuesday at Fayette Ware Comprehensive High School in Somerville, Tennessee, after overdosing on fentanyl. A third teenager was transported to the hospital in critical condition. One of the girls was 16 years old and the two others were 17 years old, according to the school district.

District Attorney Mark Davidson told ABC News the surviving girl was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

All three girls were juniors at the high school, which held its graduation ceremony just hours after the overdoses.

This seems so wrong to punish the survivor. If I am reading this correctly, the three girls sadly accidentally overdosed on some drug that also contained fentanyl, 2 died and one lived. She was also a victim, yet they are charging her with murder. It sounds as if she had died and one of the others survivied instead, they would have charged that survivor with murder.

I can see if whoever supplied the drugs to these kids was aware that it contained a lethal amount of fent, that person should be charged, but don't charge a friend because they were lucky enough to have lived.

No deaths will ever be prevented by jailing a victim after the fact, we need to educate kids about drugs and harm reduction strategies before they take drugs to prevent them killing theselves.

It's obscene, as if the trauma wasn't enough (assuming your scenario is what happened)

Same way I feel about charging corner boys, runners or middle men with manslaughter for selling a person drugs that they're "bosses or higher ups" cut with the fatal dose
