Shotgun recommendations for shooting trap? 1

A friend of mine has taken me shooting trap a few times over the past couple years and I'd like to go ahead and get my own gun. Any recommendations? I've shot both 12 and 20 gauge and want to stick with 12 gauge. Between semi-auto and over-under I liked the over-under more. It's unlikely I'll go bird hunting or use this gun for anything except shooting targets.
I want to hit the sweet spot of value where I get something reliable and high-quality, but don't want to pay for unnecessary bells & whistles. Any brands I should look at first (or steer clear of)? What's a decent price range? Any reason not to consider buying a used gun?
Thanks all!

I know this subthread doesnt get a ton of action, but I just picked up a Mannum 870 12 Ga shotgun from my brother in law. $400, but in other states you can probably get it for $2-300, and the thing is about as reliable as a shotgun gets.
These were LEO issued, and the department he bought his from discontinued shotguns to be replaced with ARs.
So thats my recommendation, because I just bought one haha.

I like my browning A5. I like to use the same gun I hunt with.
