Greetings,
Wanted to post on an update on shoebox progress. This is BRF shredded to coir (2:2:1) about 4 weeks ago. I’ve read into the dangers of BRF to bulk and plan to do grains next but surprising I’ve yet to see any contamination! Only downsides are uneven flush and it looks like they could use more FAE. Overall I’m pretty happy with them and I’m curious on what you all think.

Uneven flushes is pretty common with BRF especially if youre growing from spore syringes. Look for a good fruit to clone to agar!

Already got a bunch from fruits taken from other cakes. In hindsight probs should have chosen ones that fruited best in these conditions but w/e

I see lots of healthy primordia and pins, good tall fruits. If this were my box I would be concerned primarily if it is pinning under duress.

Noted! I’ll keep an eye out for contamination but so far so good.

I was curious about people’s thoughts on this tho? Would people recommend harvesting the few that are very large and have already broken their veils? I know it’s bad practice with a tub like this but they look way ahead of the pack.
I guess it’s important to note that I don’t need more clones or spore prints as I’ve already made a bunch. Would it be a negative to just let them chill?

When they’re ready they’re ready; you can harvest all at once or just the big ones. The reason we harvest all at once is to allow the substrate recovery interval between harvests
