I take prints when I notice them dropping spores in the shoe box. I harvest at the same time.

Seems to be down to 3 phenos which I can hopefully separate soon. The ufo, the big bumpy PE lookin ones, and then the ones with the kind of fat base.

So I found this really interesting pheno with dark brown caps and super solid meaty fruits. Probably wouldnβt have side pinned if I had been a little more on my game, but I went to see some shows in Florida and came back with the wook flu. Completely neglected everything for too long and the bottles were knotting up everywhere by the time I put them in the tub. Got some tissue samples on agar this afternoon though.

I got the syringe from the works and it clearly says βpsilocybe natalensisβ on it so I dunno. None of the other fruits from the syringe look anything like cubes (or anything like these). The listing wasnβt in the cube section either. I canβt remember what all the different identifying traits are but I read a big one is the veil never being attached to the cap and thatβs been every mushroom from this syringe. They also drop an ungodly amount of spores unlike any cubes Iβve ever grown. Thereβs always a small chance I knocked up this bottle with a cube plate and mislabeled it but I donβt think so.

Veil is never attached to the cap? What?
WTF would it be attached to?

I wrote that wrong. It separates really early and just hangs around the stem. Doesnβt stretch with the cap. Iβm obviously out of my depth here smh. You all have a good night.

I hate how hard it is trying to see into tubs sometimes, even clear ones can be a pain with all the condensation on the sides.

I usually have at least one little clear spot. On this tub, it's at a nice level for a picture.

Sometimes I used to set a bright/warm LED real close to one side and it makes a nice clear spot after 10 minutes or so

Did my Natalensis bottle contaminate or does Natalensis mycelium do this when set up for fruiting?
I did a muda bottle of WBS. This is what it looked like right before opening it for fruiting on 2023-05-01:

When I opened it I covered with a coir layer and misted it (probably over-misted) and used a ziploc bag with holes to set it for fruiting.
Now I'm seeing a lot of super spongy growth inside the bottle and the colonization of the coir layer is very wispy and cottony. I'm wondering if this is Natalensis mycelium or my shit just got contaminated somehow.
This is how it looks today after 8 days:

Anyone knows wtf is going on?

Yep looks perfect for nats. You might end up having to peel a bunch of mycelium off if it fills up the jar in the next few days. The myc is active though so you can dry it out like shrooms.
This was my last tub before I peeled it off
