What things would help to bring about world peace? And since being a dictator and controlling people doesn't seem to work out too good, what can I do to make a difference?
-Having a higher purpose
One of the bigger challenges of world peace is the need to care about other people, with as much passion as we have to care about ourselves with. Otherwise there is lots of lone wolves, and not so much co-operation. This is not seen very often. Yeah, maybe every now and then. But who dedicates their whole lives to caring about other people's lives, even at the risk of their own comfort?
-Conflict resolution
When people disagree, their honour and integrity is at stake. They may even be seen as liars, if they are proven wrong. So there is an incentive to stick to what we know, rather than to find out again what is true, and whether to look at things from another angle. Even from the nasty angle that the other person is looking from.
All too often, there can be a big disagreement that separates people for a long time. Maybe even a lifetime. This isn't logical. They may even have skills that could improve our lives, or we could have skills that improves theirs. So logically, there's no sense in shunning or dismissing people's worth. Are they so cunning that nobody else can judge them for themselves, that we have to criticise them all the time? And so, bad-mouthing people is a terrible thing that works against world peace. The world is made up of every country, every community within, our very friendship groups are a part of world peace, because of our interconnection with each other
-Law and order
Without laws, we tend to go rogue. And with laws, they're not so bad, but who agrees to all of them? There is an element of rebellion, which is because we want to change laws to suit us, or to ignore those same rules. And this act of rebellion negates the authority of these rules, and therefore also their effectiveness. And so we have the justice system, an attempt to control those who try to destroy the order that's created by the rules, and to maintain the effectiveness of them.
Is there any perfect law? Love. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

@ Pinky -- no metaphor there, just sharing my version of world peace. it is important to be comfortable in my own skin - dirty underwear is not peaceful.
@van0014 -- replace the word "love" (which is very much misunderstood - and often manipulatively confusing) with "patience and gentleness" and you are golden.

no, send them a heart symbol or flowers, and be there when they need you, let them know you think they are beautiful, but don't get mired in phony dramatic Hollywood bullshit - it messes up the mind.
